ABOUT PAIN THERAPIES

Practical treatment. Built around how you move.

Experience, treatment and rehabilitation

Pain Therapies is built around a practical approach to soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation. The aim is to understand what is going on, use treatment where appropriate and help you move forward with a clear plan.

WHO IS BEHIND PAIN THERAPIES

Treatment built from experience, not a one-size-fits-all formula.

Pain Therapies is run by an experienced practitioner with a background covering personal training, nutrition, sports massage, dry needling and soft tissue therapy.

That experience has shaped the way I work today. Rather than treating massage as the end point, I look at how you move, what is limiting you and what you are trying to get back to.

Treatment is one part of the process. Where appropriate, movement and rehabilitation can then be used to help you build confidence, strength and capacity around the things that matter to you.

HOW THE APPROACH DEVELOPED

From fitness training to soft tissue therapy and rehab.

My work started with personal training and a focus on helping people become stronger, fitter and more capable. That naturally led into nutrition, sports massage and further treatment-based work.

As my experience developed, so did the way I looked at pain, movement and recovery. Dry needling and soft tissue therapy added further tools, while Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapy has taken that progression further.

HOW I WORK

Understand the problem. Treat what needs treating. Build from there.

Every person and every problem is different. I don't believe in applying the same treatment to everyone just because it worked for someone else.

I'll look at what you're experiencing, how you're moving and what you want to get back to. Treatment can then be used where it makes sense, followed by movement or rehabilitation work when that's appropriate.

The aim is to give you something useful to work with rather than simply sending you away feeling better for a few days.

WHAT PAIN THERAPIES IS

More than a massage. Less than a complicated process.

Pain Therapies is focused on assessment-led soft tissue therapy and rehabilitation. The aim is to understand the problem, use the appropriate treatment and give you a practical way forward.

That might mean hands-on treatment. It might mean movement work. It might mean both. The approach depends on what you need rather than fitting everyone into the same session.

Not a spa

The focus is treatment, movement and rehabilitation rather than relaxation or a spa experience.

Not a massage factory

Sessions are not about rushing through a standard routine. Time is spent understanding what you're actually dealing with.

Not a one-session fix

Treatment can be useful, but sometimes the next step is movement, strengthening or changing how you load an area.

TREATMENT + REHAB

Assess. Treat. Move. Rebuild.

Treatment and rehabilitation can work together. Hands-on treatment may be useful for addressing symptoms or restrictions, while movement and progressive loading can help you build confidence and capacity.

The balance between them depends on the person, the problem and what you want to get back to.

How I approach it

  • Understand what you're dealing with
  • Treat where appropriate
  • Use movement when useful
  • Build capacity progressively
  • Work towards what matters to you
