REHAB
Movement & Rehabilitation
Rehab is about helping you move better, build capacity and gradually get back to the activities that matter to you. The right approach depends on the person, the problem and what you want to get back to.

WHY MOVEMENT MATTERS
Hands-on treatment can be useful for reducing symptoms, easing restriction and helping you move more comfortably. But sometimes the next step is learning how to move, load and build capacity again.
That's where rehabilitation can help. The aim isn't to give you a huge exercise programme. It's to find the right amount of movement and strengthening for you and your goals.
WHAT REHAB CAN INVOLVE
Rehabilitation doesn't have to mean hours of exercises every week. It should be appropriate to you, your current ability and what you want to get back to.
Specific movement work to help you explore and improve areas where mobility is limited.
Building strength where it is useful for the movements and activities you want to perform.
Gradually increasing what you ask of the body as your confidence and capacity improve.
Building back towards the sport, training or everyday activities that matter to you.
INDIVIDUALISED REHABILITATION
Rehabilitation should fit into your life rather than take it over. The amount of movement and exercise you need depends on your starting point, your goals and what you are trying to get back to.
Sometimes that might mean a few simple exercises. Sometimes it may involve a more structured approach with progressive strengthening and loading.
RETURNING TO ACTIVITY
The goal isn't simply to complete exercises. It's to build towards the things you actually want to do, whether that's training in the gym, playing golf, cycling, running or simply moving more comfortably through everyday life.
Gradually getting comfortable with movements or activities that have become difficult or uncomfortable.
Progressively giving your body the opportunity to handle more of the demands you want to place on it.
Working towards the activities, training and everyday movement that matter to you.
TREATMENT + REHAB
Treatment and rehabilitation aren't competing approaches. They can work together when that is appropriate for the person and the problem.
Hands-on treatment may help address symptoms or restrictions. Movement and progressive loading can then help you build confidence and capacity around what you want to do.
WHERE TO START
Pain Reset is the assessment-led option for when you have a problem but aren't sure what treatment you need or what the next step should be.
The session combines assessment, treatment and practical movement guidance. Where rehabilitation is appropriate, it can become part of the plan from there.

REHAB IN REAL LIFE
Good rehabilitation should be practical enough to fit around your work, training and everyday life. Sometimes the right next step is a simple change to how you move. Sometimes more structured work is useful.
Exercises and movement work should be realistic enough that you can actually fit them into your week.
Your activity, training and circumstances can change. Rehabilitation can change with them.
As things improve, movement and loading can be progressed rather than staying stuck at the same level.
The aim isn't to keep you doing rehabilitation forever. The goal is to help you move forward.
